Bonny Doon Farm, America’s Original Lavender Farm, was started in 1972 – becoming the first in the USA – after Ma and Pa Moeller divided their farmstead of 152 acres between their four offspring. When Bonny Doon Farm Lavender started at Ma Moeller’s suggestion there were only the historical plantings of Europe, England and the Bridestowe Estate in Tasmania.
Their gift property continues as a prime agriculturally zoned parcel and is now surrounded by the 500 acre State of California Bonny Doon Ecological Reserve part of which also was family land, but now is a wild land buffer to the outside world.
Diane grew up on this property in Bonny Doon, unincorporated Santa Cruz, with her siblings, Annette, Maryjo and Henry. This passion runs through the Moeller family to their bones. Just look at our website for a view into the intimate nature of creativity. Owner and founder Diane, sister MaryJo Koch and her children have created the art used on our Bonny Doon Farm products.
Their passion for perfection of purpose and hard work have brought us here to offer many handmade items by neighbors using ingredients of premium quality when only the best will do. All products are made right here in California.
Shows continue to be a big part of our business. We have been at the Capitola Art & Wine and Carmel Homecrafters since their inception. Bonny Doon Church Holiday Faire is a local favorite and Saratoga Blossom Festival celebrates Spring and The Valley of Heart’s Delight origins. We embrace this past and live it’s future promise of home grown goods and service.
